update

managed to run home last night before going out to Eraora... needless to say we didn't drink the 90,000 wines in the cellar - but we made enough progress through them to rule out running in this morning!

45k so far this week including an 18k...

morning run

27:06 - went for 18k run with Henrik last night, easy pace but enjoyable and nice to see the sights (without getting lost).

morning run

22:54 broke 23minutes at last! actually a slow start - so possible for more improvement... that said 20mins seems further and further away!!

Long run

20km (into centre of Copenhagen back by house then out around Damhusen lake and home) in 1hour 48 minutes. very happy with that. Didn't run yesterday as legs felt dead to the world when I woke up and think that done me some good.
Aim now is to keep slowly building the midweek mileage (65k this week) with speed the focus in the mornings and longer haul in the way home each evening. Then to have one complete rest day per weekend, and one 20k plus run. Ideally will do a 30k before marathon du Medoc!

So far, so good!

haven't been mentioning the evening runs of late... but still being done. have added a new twist where I run round one of he lakes on my way home... the basic idea is to run round once on monday, twice on tues etc.. so by friday that will be 5 laps of the lake in addition to the 5k home! that particular lake - see link below - is 1k !

27:31 feeling slightly knackered after staying up 'till midnight to finish Harry Potter... bloody book!

Monday, July 18, 2005

morning run

26:59 took it easy as up till midnight reading latest Harry Potter...

So last week managed just 40km and 2 pbs. this week going to focus more on getting some longer runs under my belt... !

Thursday, July 14, 2005

morning run

23:16 new pb !! good week so far, with 35k done...

worked out that 23:16 pace equates (ignoring traffic lights) to 3 hours 16 minute marathon!

16minutes would equate to 2hours 15mins... the mind boggles!

evening run

well after all said and done, got 10k in today in total so happy enough... wuld like to get 50kms by friday evening and set a pb one of the mornings...

BACK

well, what a disaster...

lost my luggage on way back from NZ, so no running last week (also slightly jetlagged and not in mood)... but found old pair of trainers over w.e. - so despite been hungover and not in mood, and with all the wrong type of bowel movements I managed to drag myself the 5km to work this morning no time as stopwatch stopped prematurely - maybe a good thing!

so back in saddle and much catching up to do... Also have horrible nagging feeling about the heart etc., as a colleague in London dropped dead on a run home last week....

hmmmm

New Zealand run...

Ran with Gareth and Jonnsie upto Fox's glacier... and back. Fuming I was dropped with 400m to go... but good pace overall, unbelieveable views from the valley leading up to the glacier. Sadly, the last run in NZ...

While here have read Paula Radcliffe and Haile Gabresaillaise's autobiographies - very different but from both one gets the sense of hard work, failure that spurred success and determination throughout their careers. Made me want to run the Great Ethiopian run that Jonnsie & co. ran last year...

looking forward to getting back to Cop' and beating my work pb and start doing some longer runs!
